Copyright / DMCA

Last updated: this is a placeholder draft. Review before launch.

Zikr is a player for publicly-available Islamic audio. For most tracks, the audio is streamed directly from the original source rather than hosted by us. We still take copyright concerns seriously and act on valid notices promptly.

How to report

Use the report form and include all of the following so we can act on your notice:

  1. The full URL of the station or track on Zikr (e.g. https://zikr.io/s/abdulaziz-altarifi).
  2. A description of the copyrighted work you believe is being infringed.
  3. Your contact details: name, email, postal address, phone number.
  4. A statement, made in good faith, that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  5. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information above is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of the owner.
  6. Your physical or electronic signature.

What happens next

On a valid notice we hide or remove the station/track on the platform. Where the audio is streamed from a third-party host, we will also stop pointing to that source.

Counter-notice

If you believe your content was removed in error, send a counter-notice through the same form with: identification of the removed material, your contact details, and a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe the removal was a mistake.

Repeat infringers

Accounts that repeatedly violate copyright will be suspended.
